“Eboni Fondren has a voice that drips with the blues and a seductive power; a song from her pulls you in, then knocks you around with a powerful, sultry swing.” (The Pitch: “Jazz Beat”)
Eboni Fondren is an accomplished singer and actress who has been working in and around the Kansas City area for the past 10 years. You can catch her swinging through town with her Jazz/Soul Quintet featuring the-best-of-the-best in Kansas City musicians as well as her nomenclature “Eboni and the Ivories”, popular in the swing dance community.
“Fondren is the stand-out of a top-notch cast. Her rich alto has notes leaning against one another with a sultry easiness that never once lacks precision or beauty (KC Metropolis).” As an actress, she has lit up stages with feature roles at some of Kansas City’s premiere theatre companies including The Kansas City Repertory Theatre, The Coterie Theatre and Spinning Tree Theatre in productions like “Little Shop of Horrors”, “Hairspray” and “Ain’t Misbehavin”. “Fondren, performing with earth-mother authority, demonstrates her ability to belt as well as a flair for comedy (Kansas City Star).”
In college, Fondren had a double major in Business Communication and Broadcast Management. This involved hosting and managing a part-time radio show. Shortly after college she did a brief stint with Wit Pending Improv Company and started her tutelage with Everette DeVan.
She is very excited to have the opportunity to bring all the eclectic skills and talents she’s acquired over the years to the 12th Street Jump Family!
